Have you been wondering about life? Observing the unbridled greed and insensitivity which seems to pervade human interactions regardless of culture or country? Have you noted that there are many spiritual paths in the world but that most churches, mosques and temples seem to want you to remove your head at the door. Have you visited some of these communities and heard them preach anger at those who do not agree with their beliefs or teach that it is best to ignore the pain of others?
We teach that through sharing, we become stronger, through compassion we demonstrate strength, and through each other in Spiritual Community together with the Divine, we can create a better world for us all.
We understand that any astute observer of the world can see that it is time for us to work together to create a better world for everyone not just a few. There have been countless societies throughout history in which the welfare of the community has been sacrificed to the luxury of the few.
Messengers such as Christ have come to us to guide us to an understanding of the importance of creating a society which is rooted in compassion with opportunity for all in our community. Messengers such as the Buddha have taught the same message with specific admonition against the creation of stratified caste systems. We believe in non-hierarchal spirituality which is shared from peer to peer and nurtured through a clear and fair structure rooted in mutual respect and compassion.
How can we create a community which reflects our ideals of human rights, is peaceful and harmonious and manifests respect and prosperity for all?
The change must come from within each of us and to bring about this change, we must each create a spiritual practice. We call a person's spiritual practice, his or her "Home of Truth". This is because the Kingdom is within each of us and "we are building Our Home of Tommorrow in our hearts today." This Home is our individual Home of Truth.
It is your individual consciousness which connects you to God. There is no magic mushroom that one can take to suddenly be one with God. You are already one with God. God is aware of this truth, but are you? There is no single path to the awareness of your DivineUnity, or unity with God. There are as many paths to God as there are people and the fact is you are already one with God. There is no special belief that one can hold that will magically save a person from difficulties. There is no particular messenger that is better than another except to you individually. You might find your epiphany and be "born again" through the teachings of the Buddha, or through Christ. But ultimately being "born again" will only be temporary if you do not develop a spiritual practice using some or all of the Seven Tools of Transformation and keep that practice on a daily basis.
The only way that one can develop strength of body is to develop a practice of exercising the body and the only way to develop strength of spirit is through developing & using a spirtual practice. The only thing that can prevent someone from growing spiritually and coming to awareness of his/her divineUnity is his or her failure to create and use a spiritual practice.
Many people have gone to churches, temples and other places of worship only to wonder what is truly going on. Often it seems that people are performing rituals without any feeling while others are collapsing in a frenzy of emotional confusion and confessing to having found a special truth. Those of us have gone and found an emotional high through Krishna, Christ or another figure while others have observed this with a sense of embarassment for that person and a bewilderment as to what is going on. In the case of fundamentalist Christians this moment is called "being born again." In the case of fundamentalist Hindus this emotional moment is called "Dwija" which translates to "twice born."
The keys to heaven are not found within a building but are within each of us. Another person can facilitate the process by which we awaken to the truth and help us to find the keys which set us free, but that person cannot open the door for us. Each of us must must pick up the keys and do that individually. This is perhaps the most important thing for a soul to realize. We grow strong within Spiritual Community and each must awaken individually. Fellowship is very important and increasingly it is found that fellowship is essential to our health and well being. Thus let us build Spiritual Communities which are rooted in respect and compassion and let us each be loving and caring companions on our path of co-creation.
Together we empower each other, through sharing and caring and being. Through fellowship we are able to awaken individually because of shared nurturing.
